It's starting to heat up, so let Disney cool you down! Disney recently announced that when staying on Walt Disney World Resort, you and your party get free waterpark tickets the first day of your stay.

This is super helpful for families who don't have quite enough time to want to spend the money on visiting one of the 4 major parks, but still stay in the Disney bubble. This benefits the customer by allowing them to have a fun at the expense of Disney, while Disney World keeps you in their parks to spend money on their food, souvenirs, and amenities. It's really a win-win for both parties!
As of Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, Walt Disney World has also announced that both of their water parks will be open for the summer time! Guests will be able to enjoy the tropical paradise of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or the chilly winter-themed Blizzard Beach.
Blizzard Beach will be open from May 21st until September 7th, 2025. The cold ski resort water park will close and undergo maintenance during the fall, which is quite typical for the Disney World Water Parks. Blizzard Beach is also currently open and celebrating it's 30th anniversary party until closing on May 1st before the summer. All the details about that celebration can be found here - Blizzard Beach 30th Anniversary Celebration.
Typhoon Lagoon will reopen on May 1st, since Blizzard beach will be down for maintenance temporarily. It will also be open at least until September 7th, but we don't currently have a closing date for Typhoon Lagoon. It is safe to assume it will be open for the duration of Blizzard Beach's maintenance shutdown in the fall.
Families will be able to enjoy the warm weather by cooling down at one of Disney World's fantastic waterparks. This is the first time this can be done since 2019. After the pandemic, Disney World hasn't had the two water parks open together for an extended period of time. Are they preparing for larger crowds this year? Are more people visiting the water parks since Disney is giving free admission to resort guests? We will see how busy they are this summer, come join in the fun! Which water park will you decide to go to?
