Great news for Guests staying at Deluxe Disney Resort hotels! Starting August 13th, Minnie Van service is expanding to include airport transportation, but it comes at a hefty cost. This offers a new, convenient option for getting to and from the airport while still feeling like you are in the Disney Bubble.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the service, Minnie Vans are private ride-sharing vehicles at Walt Disney World that are operated by Disney Cast Members and can be booked through the Lyft app. These vehicles are easily spotted by their signature red and white polka dot design to represent Minnie Mouse, and create a fun play on words with "Minnie" Van.

Minnie Vans are a fantastic transportation option for several reasons:
Convenience: They offer direct, point-to-point service across the Walt Disney World Resort property. This can be a huge time-saver compared to waiting for a bus or transferring between different forms of transportation.
Family-Friendly: Each van comes equipped with up to two complimentary car seats for your little ones. This makes it an ideal choice for families traveling with young children.
Exclusive Access: Unlike other ride-sharing services, Minnie Vans have special drop-off points. The drop off points tend to be much closer location to the Magic Kingdom park entrance.
Here's what you need to know about the new airport service:
The standard Minnie Vans can accommodate up to 6 passengers.
Accessible vehicles are available upon request, fitting up to 5 passengers and 2 mobility devices, with a maximum of 7 total passengers.
Up to two complimentary car seats are available for use, just like the Minnie Vans used near the parks.
These may sound great, however, I have a slight issue with this new offering. These "newly offered vans" are a whopping $200 one way from the airport. This means a family would have to spend $400 for the vacation travel to and from the airport.
If this was one of the only options, it would make sense. However, I can currently find Uber and Lyft rides for 6 people for around $55 one way. This is a quarter of the price of the Minnie Vans. I understand that the Minnie Vans are a fun theme and really make you feel more in the "Disney bubble" straight out of the airport, but this is just hard to justify.
If you are interested in this Disney Service, you can book your Minnie Van airport service as early as 60 days before your visit, and up to 2 days prior. To check availability and make a reservation, call (407) 828-3500.
